Get the Clymer manual - the only significant difference between at 1986 and a 2003 is the change from a Four Speed to a Five Speed transmission.
Every couple of days one turns up on EBAY - I got my owners manual from EBAY as well by diligently watching.
You also can go to your local library and borrow one on interlibrary loan study it, write the notes on what you need and return it for the next person I remind that they can borrow it on interlibrary loan.
You might also want to scan back and do some reading - there must be 500+ references to the fact that the bike has not changed over the years
It may well be that the questions you are looking for answers to have also been repeatedly answered.
